Janet-Rae Petrovic, the creative force behind Gracie L’s Jewelry, brings the beauty of the past into the present, transforming heirloom treasures into wearable art. Inspired by her beloved grandmother, Gracie, whose elegant beaded necklaces and earrings were a signature of her style, Janet-Rae weave personal history into each of her designs. Born near Galveston, Texas, Janet-Rae’s life journey took her from the shores of Larchmont, NY, to the cultural vibrancy of Lausanne, Switzerland, and finally to Milwaukee, WI, all while cultivating a love for art and design.
Her passion was formalized at Pratt Institute, one of New York’s most prestigious art schools, where she earned her BFA. But it was during her role at the Milwaukee Art Museum, managing three stores and curating collections from local artists, that her own artistic spark truly ignited. Inspired by the creativity around her, Janet-Rae began designing her own jewelry, merging the old with the new–each piece carefully crafted from recycled vintage jewelry mixed with modern elements.
Today, Janet-Rae’s unique creations, brimming with history, artistry, and love, are featured at Pink Pelican Art Gallery in Orange Beach, AL, and Hello Gallery in Fairhope, AL.
